New IPS e.max ZirCAD MT Multi block for CEREC users

The new zirconium oxide block IPS e.max ZirCAD MT Multi combines strengthand lifelike estheticsThe new zirconium oxide block IPS e.max ZirCAD MT Multi combines strength and lifelike esthetics. The special composition and the material’s natural progression of shade and translucency make the new block particularly attractive and versatile.

From the CEREC Material Pack size 4.6.1.(1), crowns and 3-unit bridges can be produced from the IPS e.max ZirCAD MT Multi blocks using the wet or dry processing method and inserted into the mouth onto a tooth-structure preserving preparation in a “same-day treatment” procedure. The restorations can either be sintered in the Programat CS4 or in the CEREC SpeedFire(2) sintering furnace. The software update V2.0 for the program CS4 can now be downloaded and installed. The restorations can be cemented using conventional, self-adhesive (e.g. SpeedCEM Plus) or adhesive cementation methods.

Two raw materials for a realistic, natural progression of translucency
IPS e.max ZirCAD MT Multi blocks unite two material classes and produce convincing results, which imitate the effect of natural dentition: In the incisal area, the translucent zirconium oxide class 5Y-TZP ensures a high level of translucency. At the same time, the more opaque zirconium oxide class 4Y-TZP ensures high stability in the dentin region (850 MPa(3)). The fracture toughness is 3.6(4).

The extremely smooth progression of shade and translucency within the material consists of a 60% dentin zone, a 20% transition zone and a 20% incisal zone. This distribution within the block is a realistic reproduction of dentin and incisal within natural dentition and therefore creates a lifelike esthetic appearance.

Multiple processing options after sintering
Depending on wishes and requirements, users have various processing options to choose from: For example, the restorations can be polished with OptraFine or – if a particularly fluorescent effect is required – they can be glazed with IPS e.max Crystall./Glaze Paste Fluo. Another option is characterization with the dentin and intensive stains IPS e.max CAD Crystall./Shades and Stains.

Delivery form
The IPS e.max ZirCAD MT Multi blocks are offered in addition to the already available translucency level LT. The MT Multi blocks are available in eight shades (BL1, A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, C2, D2) and in the block sizes C17 and B45. In addition, the blocks are also available as discs.
