Most patients would like their restorations to be indistinguishable from their natural teeth. In an effort to fulfil this wish, many dentists use highly esthetic materials, for example, lithium disilicate or leucite-reinforced glass-ceramics and composite resins.
Enhancement of esthetics
In order to make the most of the esthetic appearance of these restorations, dentists have to be very careful about the luting material they choose to cement them.
Challenges in the anterior teeth
This task is particularly challenging in the anterior tooth region, where the following two demands have to be met:
- Since anterior teeth are minimally prepared in most cases, the luting cement used must generate adequate adhesion.
- Nevertheless, it should also be easy to use.
How to achieve esthetic cementation results
The Variolink Esthetic luting composite allows you to obtain esthetic cementation results with restorations made of glass and silicate ceramics, for example, IPS e.max CAD and IPS e.max Press, as well as composite resins. You can achieve highly esthetic outcomes quickly and easily in conjunction with the universal adhesive Adhese Universal and the single component ceramic primer Monobond Etch & Prime.
Comparable adhesion despite simplified application
The investigations show: The bond established by Monobond Etch & Prime between the glass-ceramic and the luting composite is comparable to that created with the hydrofluoric acid and silane method. In addition, the product’s application protocol is much shorter and it eliminates the need for using hydrofluoric acid.
