Reliable adhesion due to high technique tolerance
Do you ask yourself sometimes how you can work more efficiently with adhesives? Do you wish you had one adhesive which can be applied on both wet and dry dentin in the same convenient way?
How wet or dry should the dentin be? There is one answer to this question: Adhese Universal is a universal bonding agent that achieves high bond strength on both wet and dry dentin. This has been confirmed in a clinical study.

The clinical success of an adhesive often depends on the user’s working technique. Total-etch adhesives generally require a "wet bonding" technique. Here the adhesive should be applied onto etched dentin that is slightly moist to avoid desiccation. But, how wet or dry should the dentin be in order to achieve sufficient bond strength?

Optimum sealing of dentin
Adhese Universal combines hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties into one balanced product. It is extremely tolerant towards moisture with effective penetration into the dentin tubules. The application time ensures that the hydrophilic monomers and water sufficiently re-wet the dentin to allow the adhesive to infiltrate into the collagen network. A homogeneous, even layer forms even if the adhesive is dispersed with a strong stream of air. Once polymerized, this layer seals the dentin tubules perfectly.
High bond strength - irrespective of the etching technique
The bond strength of Adhese Universal to dentin remains uncompromised, even after etching with phosphoric acid, or over-drying or over-wetting the dentin surface. A high bond strength can be achieved on both wet and dry dentin - whichever etching or application method was used. The high technique tolerance of Adhese Universal has been confirmed in a recent study (Singhai et al., University at Buffalo, USA 2014). This study examined the bond strength on wet, dry and desiccated dentin. Results: Adhese Universal achieved consistently high bond strength values, irrespective of the condition of the dentin.
